After them I fled to fulfill my poppy side, well first my metal side. Haste The Day was good and I finally saw them but the only song I obsessed about, like two years ago, was not performed. Next, before the metal, it was this folksy/Country stuff with a fat dude with a patch on his eye and overalls over a wife beater and a girl who played a washboard with gloves with like metal on the tips. It was interesting and the pink dog wall of death was beyond hilarious and weirdly enough, brutal. After that it was iwrestledabearonce and as I was thinking in my head, “if their vocalist has been replaced and it’s a dude…this is a total waste of time and shit.” Oddly enough their vocalist wasn’t replaced or left, Krysta was just sick and had no voice. I don’t know how this shit enters my brain or why I think it but it’s always true on some level. Pretty insane, I believe I have some sort of gift but don’t know what it is yet or what to call it, kind of like Sookie on True Blood. “I’m a waitress.” (This was written two weeks prior to the revelation of fairies) Anyways, tangent! So they played instrumental and then had random dudes perform some of the songs, two were good and one sucked ass. Then the good-looking blonde from The Word Alive did Tastes Like Kevin Bacon and he was fit. I so need to see iwrestledabearonce this fall at The Boardwalk now, crucial. Fake Problems played on the next stage and I liked them, pretty decent. Alesana played after on the next stage and as usual were Ale-fucking-sana. Loved like Dennis announced “Yes, its fucking Alesana again.” Yes, Dennis you took the words right out of my mind but I still heart you.
The Pretty Reckless was next on the next stage and little j; you give me a boner every time. It’s all right though, Warped is full of jail-fucking-bait. It’s jack-fucking-pot, bro. Set was perfect, I was front row barricade this whole time, right in-between both AP/Advent and Glamour Kills stages, so I had perfect view of both sides and didn’t have to move over when stages alternated. Little J, I heart you and salute you for wearing that, I-don’t-know-what-to-call-it, see-through outfit.
On the next stage was The Word Alive and I liked them and of course I did. They have Ex-Catherine drummer Justin Salinas and Ex-Greeley Estates bassist/backing vocals Telle. nevershoutnever! on the next stage and I adore this bloke but I hate the teenybopper/annoying birds that are on his dick. Yes, I know he’s adorable and I would fuck that bloke in less than a nanosecond but damn, chill out. Too much adorableness but Christofer mate, wear some sort of feet protection because your feet look like they are a second away from contracting herpes or some rubbish like that.
VersaEmerge next and I heart Sierra and her feathers. Sent shageyes on behave of Alex to Blake. The vile of sweat was too hard to muster. I’m saving that kind of energy for Paramore and Josh “I want your sweat!” Farro.
Left from that and as I was walking Automatic Loveletter was still playing and I had to stop dead in my tracks because Juliette, my damn. Words cannot express so I will leave you this
After that and on a side note, I love Juliette Simms voice. It always sounds like it’s on the verge of emotionally breaking. Love. So then jolted to the Altec Stage to catch a bit of Set Your Goals. Popcore at it’s best. Had to leave after a bit to get a great spot for Bring Me The Horizon and damn was that shit FIT and mintly mental. Center middle, like 5th-ish row and this was the pit of the day (second was Attack Attack! tied with Anti-flag), so many fucking crowd surfers. Oli Sykes, I’m very happy for you and I’m gonna let you finish but Enter Shikari had the best crowd surfers of all time.
Thank you to the girl that got injured for stopping the set and thus me being able to capture this still photo.
The last set I saw was Attack Attack! On Altec and shit it was a good way to end the day. Electro, dubs, influenced hardcore with Cassadee Pope of Hey Monday peforming with them on a song (which helped since I didn’t get to see them at either dates because it conflicted with others). Plus having her side sage to glare at was not bad. Then it turned epic, pit chicken fighting. Thank you Attack Attack! for ending the night and giving a release.
